(2014).<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Read the abstract <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pubmed\/25143601\">here<\/a><em>. <\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>How is brain size different between 16p11.2 duplication and deletion carriers?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Researchers analyzed brain structures of 16p11.2 deletion and duplication individuals from <span class=\"notranslate\">Simons Searchlight<\/span> and compared them with those of unrelated. age-matched controls who do not carry either a 16p11.2 deletion or a duplication.\u00a0Individuals with the\u00a0<strong>deletion had a larger <\/strong>brain volume (size), while individuals with the<strong>\u00a0duplication had a smaller<\/strong> brain volume<em>.<\/em> The differences in size were seen across the different structures and areas of the brain. That is, the brain was uniformly larger or smaller.
